Trump’s 10 most absurd quotes from his bananas Fox interview

The President had a quite a bit on his mind Thursday.
President Trump phoned into Fox & Friends for a wide-ranging interview during which he slammed former FBI Director James Comey, griped about “witch hunts” and praised Kanye West. He leapt from topic to topic, talking over the hosts to further points that often times had little to do with questions asked.
Here’s a look at some his wildest comments:
Melania Trump

The First Lady celebrated her 48th birthday on Thursday, and she did it without a glamorous gift from her husband.
“Maybe I didn’t get her so much,” Trump explained. “I got her a beautiful card. I’m very busy to be running out looking for presents. I got her a beautiful card and some flowers.”
Ronny Jackson
Minutes after the White House doctor withdrew his bid to lead the Department of Veteran Affairs, Trump said he’d known his nominee was in hot water.
“I even told him a day or two ago, I saw where this was going,” the President said.
Jackson withdrew his nomination Thursday morning amid allegations of professional misconduct. Trump called the claims “false accusations” and blasted the Democrats for trying to “destroy a man.”
“There’s no proof,” he said, citing Jackson’s “unblemished record.”
Trump also defended his embattled nominee’s lack of experience, saying “nobody has experience” to run a massive organization like the VA.
James Comey
Trump blasted his former FBI head as a “leaker and a liar” and dismissed the contentious memos he penned as “phony.”
“He didn’t write those accurately,” he said, continuing on to address his 2013 trip to Moscow — mentioned in both the Comey memos and the notorious Trump dossier.
“I went to Russia for a day or so, for a day or two because I owned the Miss Universe pageant, so I went there to watch it because it was near Moscow,” he told Fox & Friends.
“So I go there to Russia. Now ‘I didn’t go there’ — everybody knows, the logs are there, the planes are there, and he said I didn’t stay there at night. Of course I stayed there at night. Of course I stayed there. I stayed there a very short period of time, but of course I stayed.
“Well his memos said, ‘I left immediately’ — I never said that.”
Diamond and Silk

The viral Trump supporters garnered high praise from the President, who dubbed them “warriors” for the Republican cause Thursday.
“Diamond and Silk, they've become amazing. Somebody was talking about them on the internet. There were these two women, these beautiful, wonderful women, and I said let me check them out. It took me about two seconds to say start 'em. It's incredible. So Diamond and Silk, these are all warriors.”
Michael Cohen

The President praised his private attorney as a “good person” but also seemed to distance himself in wake of a federal probe aimed at Cohen’s business dealings.
“He's really a businessman, fairly big business as I understand it. I don't know his business. But this doesn't have to do with me. Michael is a businessman,” Trump rambled.
“He's got a business. He also practices law, I would say probably the big thing is his business. They're looking at something having to do with his business. I have nothing to do with his business.”
Trump also noted that while Cohen is representing him through “this crazy Stormy Daniels deal,” that the attorney only handles a “tiny, tiny fraction of his legal work.”
Kanye West

Trump continued his bromance with the rapper by complimenting his “good taste” Thursday morning.
"Kanye looks and sees black unemployment at the lowest it's been in the history of our country. He sees Hispanic unemployment at the lowest it's been in the history of our country. He sees, by the way, female unemployment the lowest it's been in almost 19 years. He sees that stuff and he's smart."
Abraham Lincoln
Trump invoked the 16th President in an effort to prove the Republican Party cares about its black voters.
"People don't realize, you know, if you go back to the Civil War, it was Republicans that really did the thing. Lincoln was a Republican. Somehow it changed over the years, and I really believe it's changing back."
He continued: “Remember I was gonna get no black votes? I was gonna get none? Well I got a lot.”
North Korea
The President praised his administration for their work with North Korea during his phone interview on Fox & Friends. (AP)
"It was very, very nasty — with 'Little Rocket Man' and the buttons. My buttons are bigger than … and everyone goes this guy is gonna get us into nuclear war!" Trump said referring to a recent online spat with the North Korean leader.
"Let me tell you the nuclear war would have happened if we had weak people. Weak people. This should have happened long before I came into office. This is a much different ballgame if they did it 10 or 20 years ago."
He wrapped up his rant by touting a meeting between Kim Jong Un and Director of the Central Intelligence Agency Mike Pompeo as well as a future meeting of his own.
He concluded his administration is “doing very well with North Korea.”
Throughout the interview, Trump regularly took aim at “Fake News,” with CNN specifically earning his ire.
“I’m not your doctor, Mr. President,” co-host Brian Kilmeade said. “But I would recommend you watch less of them.”
“I don’t watch them at all,” he replied. “I watched leaking, lying James Comey last night, and I did, I hated to do it.”
Trump added that he’s far too busy to watch all of the coverage on him, though he said he did try to in the past.
“I would watch, whether it was good or bad, I would always watch,” he said. “I have an ability. I don’t watch NBC anymore. They’re as bad as CNN. I don’t — by the way I made them a fortune with the ‘Apprentice.’ Think of that one.”
Donald Trump
The President also took the time to boast of his successes in the White House, saying “nobody has done what I have been able to do, despite the fact that I have a phony cloud over my head that doesn’t exist.”

When asked how he would grade himself, Trump responded: “I would give myself an A+.”
