Trump rips Comey as 'untruthful slime ball' in reaction to book

President Trump is pissed.
A seething Trump ripped into James Comey on Friday, denouncing the former FBI director as a “LEAKER & LIAR” and an “untruthful slime ball.”
Trump held little back as he tweeted out his first reactions to a slew of reports about Comey painting the President as unethical and “untethered to truth” in his highly anticipated forthcoming book.
“He is a weak and untruthful slime ball who was, as time has proven, a terrible Director of the FBI,” Trump tweeted. “ It was my great honor to fire James Comey!”
Trump dismissed Comey last May, a move which led to the appointment of Robert Mueller as special counsel overseeing the Russia investigation.
Mueller’s probe has since expanded to include whether Trump obstructed justice by firing Comey.
Trump also accused Comey of lying to Congress under oath, leaking classified information and called for him to be prosecuted.
“James Comey is a proven LEAKER & LIAR. Virtually everyone in Washington thought he should be fired for the terrible job he did-until he was, in fact, fired,” he wrote.

Comey testified before Congress last year, presenting strange tales of private dinners he attended at the request of the President.
More details of the pair's short time together are revealed in Comey’s book, “A Higher Loyalty,” which is due out on Tuesday.
In the tome, Comey compares Trump to a mafia boss, a man obsessed with salacious rumors involving Russian hookers he insisted were untrue but could distress his wife.
Trump raised the subject repeatedly with Comey, according to the book, asking him to prove the so-called Steele dossier which contained the claim wrong.
Trump also said charges that he watched Russia prostitutes urinate on a bed once used by the Obamas in Moscow could not be true because, Trump said, “I’m a germaphobe. There’s no way I would let people pee on each other around me. No way.”
The memoir drips with resentment and includes numerous personal jabs, including references to Trump as an “ego-driven” narcissist who’s “untethered to truth.” In a striking shot at his physique, the 6-foot-8 Comey describes Trump as shorter than he expected with a “too long” tie and “bright white half-moons” under his eyes that appeared to be from tanning goggles.
He also reveals new details about his interactions with Trump and his own decision-making in handling the Hillary Clinton email investigation before the 2016 election.

Every person on the investigative team, Comey writes, found that there was no prosecutable case against Clinton and that the FBI didn’t find that she lied under its questioning.
White House aides came top the President’s defense on Friday as well, taking shots at Comey on behalf of Trump.
“One of the few areas of true bipartisan consensus in Washington is Comey has no credibility,” White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders tweeted.
White House counselor Kellyanne Conway said Comey “has a revisionist view of history and seems like a disgruntled ex-employee.”
She also took issue with some of Comey’s more personal passages.
Such writing is “no way to comport oneself after you’re trying to prove that you have this quote, ‘higher loyalty.’”
